Taliban Signs $46 Million Deal with Indian Firm

  • The Taliban administration has signed a $46 million agreement with an Indian company (TCRC) to develop customs laboratory infrastructure across Afghanistan. The five-year project includes establishing laboratories in Kabul and nine customs facilities, installing advanced equipment, upgrading systems, and deploying foreign technical experts.
  • The initiative aims to strengthen quality control for imports and exports, enhance the Afghanistan Standards and Quality Authority, and improve trade credibility. It also focuses on training Afghan staff, exposure to international practices, and securing ISO certification to boost the country’s integration into global trade.
