  • President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka has named a hardline Buddhist monk with an anti-Muslim stance as the head of a 13-member task team to develop the 'One Country, One Law' concept.
  • It's worth noting that Rajapaksa's election slogan in 2019 was 'One Country, One Law,' which he won with a landslide victory among the country's Buddhist electorate.
  • The task force has been set up by the President of Sri Lanka through a special gazette, and a staunch Buddhist monk, Galagodatha Jnanasara, has been appointed to oversee it.
