Rajasthan's 'Sojat Mehndi' got GI tag from the government

·        Rajasthan's "Sojat Mehndi" has got Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the government.

·        Mehndi trade union committee, Sojat, Rajasthan and state science and technology department are the registered owners of this GI tag.

·        Sojat Mehndi originates from the leaves of Mehndi grown in Sojat. It is cultivated completely naturally by rainwater to obtain high amount of lonsone in the leaves of Mehndi.

·        Aromatic oil is also extracted by drying henna leaves. The leaves, bark, seeds and root of the henna plant are taken for medicinal use.
