·        Ramdev Baba's private company 'Patanjali' has signed a MoU with Tocklai Tea Research Institute (Assam) of Jorhat for the purpose of researching and extracting chemical compounds from tea leaves and seeds.

·        The Tolkai Tea Research Institute was established in 1911 at a site near the Tocklai River in Jorhat.

·        Assam has about 800 tea gardens and produces 52% of India's total tea production.
