Lalit Kala Akademi Celebrates 72nd Foundation Day

  • Lalit Kala Akademi, the National Academy of Art under the Ministry of Culture, celebrated its 72nd Foundation Day on 5 August 2026 at Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi. Joint Secretary K.K. Mishra was the Chief Guest. He paid floral tributes to Rabindranath Tagore’s statue and viewed a Timeline Exhibition on the Akademi’s 72-year legacy.
  • Two books, “Chitrakar Kanu Desai” and “Kalaguru Ravishankar Raval” by Kanu Patel, were released. Artist Rajesh Sharma gave a live painting demonstration, followed by classical dance and vocal performances by National Institute of Kathak Kendra artists.
