Japan Launches Epsilon Small Rocket Carrying 9 Satellites

  • Japan successfully launched a small, low-cost Epsilon rocket and put nine satellites into orbit with its help.
  • The Epsilon-5 rocket took off from the Uchinoura Space Center in Kagoshima's southwestern prefecture.
  • The diameter of this rocket is 2.6 meters, length is 26 meters and weight is 96 tons.
  • The nine satellites were created by private companies and enterprises, with one created in collaboration with ten national institutes of technology.
  • Epsilon, a constellation of seven satellites, was launched by JAXA in 2019.
