India’s foreign exchange reserves rose by USD 1.033 billion to USD 687.26 billion, after a previous decline of USD 1.877 billion, according to the Reserve Bank of India. Gold reserves contributed significantly, increasing by USD 1.188 billion, while foreign currency assets and IMF reserve positions saw minor declines. The robust reserves provide a buffer against currency volatility, support the rupee, and strengthen India’s macroeconomic stability, reflecting positive trends in trade and capital inflows.
