  • The British Royals bestowed the title of 'Knighthood' on Britain's seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.
  • Hamilton receives the honorary title of "Sir" after being knighted by the Prince of Wales for his contributions to motorsport.
  • The 36-year-old Hamilton of Britain holds the record of 103 race victories and is tied for the most championship victories with the legend Michael Schumacher.
  • Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is the only black driver in the United Kingdom to have received this honour.
