  • The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in China launched China's first solar observation satellite.
  • The Chinese H-Alpha Solar Explorer, or CHASE, is the name of this spacecraft. It has a Chinese name as well, Xihe, which is the name of the sun goddess in ancient Chinese mythology.
  • The satellite is outfitted with China's first space telescope and will observe the solar spectrum's deep-red H-Alpha line, allowing scientists to study solar flares.
  • The satellite is 550 kilogrammes in weight. Other countries have launched over 70 solar observation satellites. The Chinese one, on the other hand, is the first in the world to observe the sun's H-Alpha spectrum, which reacts most strongly to solar flares.
