  • Charges: crimes against humanity, war crimes and premeditated murder.
  • Brother Maher al-Assad also sentenced to death in absentia for murder, torture and incitement to murder.
  • Both residing in Moscow after the regime collapse on 8 December 2024.
  • Cousin Atef Najib (former Daraa political security chief) sentenced to death in person for mass killings, torture and protest suppression.
