Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan was appointed as the next Chief of Naval Staff; to take charge on May 31, 2026.
He will succeed Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and currently heads Western Naval Command, Mumbai.
Commissioned in 1987, he is a communication & electronic warfare specialist; commanded INS Vikramaditya and served as Vice Chief.
Trained at NDA, UK Joint Services College, and US Naval War College.
