The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) with a total budgetary allocation of ₹62,500 crore. During the scheme period, India's cumulative mobile phone production is projected to reach approximately ₹39,00,000 crore, along with a significant rise in mobile phone exports. The initiative is also expected to create nearly 60,000 direct employment opportunities, strengthen economic growth, and further establish India as a global hub for electronics manufacturing.
