Using PhonePe data, the study highlights frequent low-value payments and strong digital adoption. Southern states dominate India’s digital payment landscape, though urban-rural gaps remain. Telangana’s top rank reflects the shift towards a less-cash economy and advances in Digital India and financial inclusion.
