National Doctors’ Day is celebrated on 1 July every year to honour doctors’ dedication and services to public health.
The 2026 theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” focuses on doctors’ mental health, burnout, long hours, and well-being.
It commemorates the birth and death anniversaries of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (1882-1962), a legendary physician, educator, and former Chief Minister of West Bengal, honoured with Bharat Ratna.
Celebrations include felicitation ceremonies, health camps, seminars, and awareness drives highlighting doctors’ role in prevention, treatment, and emergencies.
