Lieutenant General (retd) NS Raja Subramani appointed the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS); to assume charge on May 30, 2026.
He succeeds General Anil Chauhan and currently serves as Military Adviser in NSAB.
Retired as Vice Chief of Army Staff in July 2025; commissioned into Garhwal Rifles in 1985.
Key experience in western & northern borders; alumnus of NDA, IMA, and King’s College London.
