The Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka, introduced the Karnataka Advanced Attendance Management System (KAAMS), or Kartavya-KAAMS mobile app, via a circular dated 27 April 2026. The AI-powered app uses Facial Recognition, Geo-Fencing, and location tracking for monitoring attendance of teachers, Head Masters, and non-teaching staff in government educational institutions. Staff must mark “In Time” and “Out Time” twice daily from duty locations.
Effective from the 2026-27 academic year, it replaces the biometric system from 1 May 2026 and integrates with HRMS and Students Achievement Tracking System (SATS).
