  • Born in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India, he moved to Cardiff at age 12 and previously served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary for AI and Online Safety.
  • The new role integrates AI policy, online safety, and digital regulation at the highest level.
  • The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) was dissolved; its functions merged into Business & Trade and Culture departments.
  • The UK aims to strengthen its position as a global AI hub.
