Indian Navy launches DSC A24

The Indian Navy launched DSC A24, the fifth and final Diving Support Craft, on 1 August 2026 at Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, Kolkata.
Project contracted 12 February 2021; completed in ~5.5 years.
Catamaran-hull vessels (300-400 tonnes displacement) for diving, inspection, repair and salvage in coastal/harbour waters.
~70% indigenous content; aligns with Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.
Ceremonially launched by Mrs Kamal Singh, wife of Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh.

National Handloom Day was observed on 7 August 2026 to promote India's handloom heritage and support weavers.
