Two Indian journalists, R K Anand and Suparna Sharma, have won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize 2026 in the Illustrated Reporting and Commentary category. They shared the award with Natalie Obiko Pearson for their collaborative investigative project ‘trAPPed’ published in Bloomberg.
The award was announced on May 4, 2026. The story narrates the ordeal of an Indian neurologist who became a victim of a ‘digital arrest’ cyber fraud scam. Using visual storytelling, data insights, and narrative reporting, it exposes the growing threats of digital scams, cyber fraud, and misuse of surveillance technologies, raising global awareness about cybersecurity risks.
