  • India and Uzbekistan set a target to double bilateral trade to about $3 billion within three years at the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum held in New Delhi on 3 August 2026. Trade had already grown 30% the previous year to $1.32 billion in 2025, with Indian exports at $1.15 billion. Both sides also discussed exploring a Free Trade Agreement.
  • Priority sectors include mining, rare earths, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, IT, agriculture and cotton. Around 400 Indian companies operate in Uzbekistan and the joint project pipeline exceeds $5 billion. The 14th Intergovernmental Commission met on 19 June 2026 to remove non-tariff barriers.
