  • India is set to chair the Ninth Session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) on Consumer Protection Law and Policy, organized by UNCTAD. The three-day meeting will be held from 6th to 8th July 2026 at Palais des Nations, Geneva. It will bring together policymakers, regulators, and international organizations to discuss emerging challenges and strengthen global cooperation on consumer rights.
  • Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, will lead the Indian delegation. Key highlights include the launch of UN Principles for Consumer Product Safety and Argentina’s peer review. India will showcase its achievements like the National Consumer Helpline and e-Jagriti AI platform.
