India has signed a $946 million sustainment package for its fleet of 24 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters, strengthening bilateral defence ties with the US. The deal covering long-term maintenance and support will enhance the Indian Navy’s maritime capabilities, including anti-submarine, anti-surface, surveillance and search-and-rescue operations. Officials highlighted that the agreement will boost helicopter readiness, reduce downtime and build India’s maintenance infrastructure. The contract also promotes interoperability with US forces and regional partners, reinforcing security in the Indo-Pacific and the Indian Ocean region.
