India has ranked as the world’s third most competitive country in artificial intelligence, according to Stanford University’s Global AI Vibrancy Tool, trailing only the United States and China. With a vibrancy score of 21.59, India has outperformed several advanced economies, driven by its vast AI talent pool, rising research output, and a rapidly expanding startup ecosystem. Notably, India is the only lower-middle-income country in the top three, underscoring its growing global influence in AI-led innovation.
