The Income Tax Department has launched ‘Kar Saathi’, an AI-powered digital platform to simplify tax filing and provide 24×7 assistance to taxpayers. The platform serves as a one-stop hub for ITR filing, refund tracking, compliance queries, and tax information.
It features an AI chatbot for guidance on deductions, notices, and e-payments. The initiative is part of reforms under the new Income Tax Act, 2025, which has reduced rules from 510 to 333 and forms from 399 to 190. ‘Kar Saathi’ aims to make tax compliance easier, transparent, and accessible for all citizens.
