In a Rajya Sabha reply on 30 July 2026, MoS Dr Jitendra Singh outlined reforms by the Department of Personnel and Training to speed up and secure Central Government recruitment. Interviews for Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C posts were abolished from 1 January 2016. Provisional appointments are now issued on self-attested documents, with caste and character verification completed within six months. National Rozgar Melas have distributed several lakh appointment letters since October 2022.
SSC has cut recruitment timelines from 15–18 months to 6–8 months through computer-based testing and launched an e-Dossier system. UPSC has reduced its cycle to about 13 months, introduced modular online applications, AI-based attempt verification, facial authentication and preliminary answer keys, and expanded examination centres.
