  • On 30 June 2026, Delhi approved two heritage schemes for 75 monuments under the state archaeology department.
  • Monument Adoption Scheme: Allows private entities, NGOs, and individuals (Monument Mitras) to adopt monuments for five years under PPP model for maintenance, cleanliness, and amenities.
  • Grant-in-Aid Scheme: Provides up to ₹2 crore for conservation, restoration, and development works.
  • Covers monuments protected under the Delhi Ancient and Historical Monuments Act, 2004 (outside ASI jurisdiction). Expected savings: ₹4.5 lakh per monument annually.
