  • The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi has approved two new semiconductor projects in Gujarat under India Semiconductor Mission with a combined investment of over ₹3,936 crore.
  • Crystal Matrix Limited will set up a compound semiconductor fabrication facility with Mini/Micro-LED production using GaN technology in Dholera, while Suchi Semicon will establish an OSAT unit in Surat with a capacity of 1,033 million chips annually.
  • These projects are expected to generate over 2,200 skilled jobs and strengthen India’s position in the global semiconductor supply chain. With this, total projects under ISM have reached 12 with cumulative investment of ₹1.64 lakh crore.
