  • Banwarilal Purohit has been unanimously elected as the new President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, with Deepak Parekh appointed as Vice-President. The decision was taken by the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees following the resignation of long-serving President Surendralal Mehta on health grounds.
  • Purohit, with over 22 years of association with the institution as Trustee and Vice-President, brings rich administrative experience from roles as Governor of Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Meghalaya, and Member of Parliament. Parekh, a prominent business leader, will strengthen governance. Founded in 1938 by K.M. Munshi, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan promotes India’s cultural heritage and value-based education through schools, colleges, and cultural centres.
